Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Collins who is also known as Antonietta Gonzales-Collins within the US as well as Mexico, is an American Mexican sportscaster. She is employed by ESPN and works as a SportsCenter News Anchor. She was hired by ESPN in the year 2016. Her mother is the TV journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins was bi-lingual since nine years old. It was a helpful talent that enabled her to get her first job working as an assistant to the producer with Univision in Miami and allowed her to be a part of the production team for national programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Then, in St. Petersburg, she was then hired by the CBS station to work as an sports reporter. She moved from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to work as a reporter on KNVO TV 48 Univision. Spanish channels KNVO TV 48 Univision, as well as Fox2 News. In addition to reporting on issues related to immigration and drug-trafficking on both sides of Mexico-Texas border, she worked as a reporter for newscasts at 5 p.m. Spanish newscast a reporter and later anchor of news at 9 p.m. news in English, and an anchor for the 10 p.m. Spanish newscast. The family moved to Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born on November 1985. She's older than her sister. The family moved in 1992 to Mexico to the US and eventually settled in Miami. In 1992, the couple divorced then shortly thereafter in 1995 she got married again Fabio Fajardo who was a naval engineer who died in 2006 from kidney cancer. On a trip Antonietta spent the time at her sister's house in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins sibling had recently gotten a new job. Antonietta was the senior of her high school and had a very clear vision of her goals for the future. She visited Mount Union University in order to see if it was a good fit for her. It turned out that she loved the school and that they had the kind of program she was searching for. She graduated from high school and was enrolled in media studies at the college. Mark Bergmann, her professor who also managed WRMU's 91.1FM station, where she was employed over the years, became an acquaintance. He encouraged her to be self-confident and his passion in journalism was a huge influence on her. She determined to meet the expectations of him and not fail him.
